Obverse of 1986 One Ounce Eagle with date in Roman Numerals MCMLXXXVI

Eagles have Arabic Dates from 1992 Onwards
Latin Dates or Roman Numerals on American Eagles
We don't know why, but when the United States of America started issuing gold eagle bullion coins in 1986, they used Roman numerals for the dates. This lasted for V years, sorry 5 years, until 1991. From 1992 they reverted to the use of normal Arabic numerals. Our guess at the reason for the change is that very few Americans speak Latin. Even those who do probably have trouble counting with Roman numerals. Arithmetic must be even more difficult.
Date Conversion
Because not everyone can convert Roman numerals and dates to normal arabic ones, here is a conversion table:-

Euro vs Schilling
Philharmonic

buy gold, buy silver

Hopeless!
Timing 最重要
Timing

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
後記
剛睇完王sir講金
覺得王sir有點沒精打彩
不知是否昨日輸得很慘烈
不境
昨晚一役
金價跌穿哂他一個月前訂下的長短線低位...
英揚消售量跌致四年低位
金價不同股票
愈無人買就愈跌價
這也是個現象
跌破1600之後
下試的就不是1580 或1560
而係1522, 即去年年尾低位
[按: 2012 果然係可以等之年]
American Gold Eagle
The American Gold Eagle is an official gold bullion coin of the United States. Authorized under the Gold Bullion Coin Act of 1985, it was first released by the United States Mint in 1986.
The American Gold Eagle contains one ounce of pure Gold. It contains 91.67% gold (22 karat), 3% silver, and 5.33% copper. This is the make the coin more durable for general circulation.
During 1989, the price of gold spent much of the year below the $400 per ounce level, although brief spikes briefly brought the price above the key level in January, November, and December. The average price of gold for the year was $381.44.
